Anybody ever wonder why I always tell people to get to the games so early? If so, then you had your answer this past Sunday as we strolled to a 4-0 victory over Quicksilver. By the time their real goalie arrived to the game, we had already gone up 2-0 and severely demoralized their team. It took them until the second half to even begin to recover, but it was far too little too late as both Pat and I felt we had a quieter time than normal on defence. This is a real indication of how important it is to show up on time and ready to play!
This weekend also saw some big changes to the scoring race, as JeffDC scored a natural hat trick en route to 3 points, and Brian also had 3 points to charge up the leader board. Rumor has it that Marie was quite vexed to be ousted from the top spot, and will be out for blood in our rematch against "The Other Team" next week. (In case any of you have forgotten they are the only team to defeat us so far this season, so it's time we exacted some revenge).
Overall I think we played a very good game, and certainly deserved the victory.
Most Sportsmanlike Award: Brian, for graciously returning the ball to the other team after the ref made a bogus handball call against the other team's goalie.
Least Sportsmanlike Award: JeffDC, for scoring twice in the first 2 minutes of the game.
Best Dressed Award: Nice hat Clark.
